Seoul St. Mary's Hospital is a University based, teaching, academic medical center with state-of-the-art facilities and medical services. It is a major teaching hospital for Catholic University School of Medicine and is a nationally known referral center for other hospitals in Korea and abroad. Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital is a flagship hospital of Korea’s largest healthcare network called Catholic Medical Center, and is also internationally renowned for the professional medical care and world-leading medical research.
The hospital has been Joint Commission International accredited since 2010.

International Healthcare Center

International Healthcare Center envision the best medical care for international patients and provide the best care by highly qualified medical staffs who have experience in foreign medical services. The Medical staffs and services

International Healthcare Center is staffed by doctors, nurses and coordinators who can communicate fluently in various languages including English, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, French, Chinese as well as Korean. The staffs are fully prepared to serve the medical needs of foreigners or oversea patients and provide them with all the health information they need.


Dr. Ji Yeon Lee, the Director of International Healthcare Center, is a board certified Rheumatologist as well as an Internist. After finishing medical school and a year of internship in Korea, she went to the United States and received Internal Medicine residency training at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, Texas and Rheumatology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, MA. She obtained American Board certifications of Internal Medicine in 2008 and Rheumatology in 2011, and she is participating in maintenance of certification by American Board of Internal Medicine for both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology (ABIM ID: 288877). She joined the International Healthcare Center in 2014 and currently works as the director of the International Healthcare Center. She also carries an active medical license from Massachusetts, USA. Based on the clinical experience through her practice in the United States, she provides medical care for primary medical problems as well as rheumatologic and musculoskeletal problems by US standards.


Dr. Jin-Ju Ok is a primary care physician trained in France and Korea. She provides consultations for primary care, health check-ups (including visa medical examination), counseling and care before travels (providing information related to the prevention of tropical diseases, immunizations and prescriptions of drug such as anti-malarial drugs as needed before travel) at the International Healthcare Center. She is an active member of International Society of Travel Medicine and received the Certificate in Travel Health. She is a registered physician of the French, Swiss, German and Italian Embassies, and Air France–KLM Airlines in Korea.


Dr. Seung Jae Kim is a board certified family medicine physician. He finished his residency training at Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) and was a clinical fellow in the Department of Family Medicine at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital and SNUH. He is currently a clinical assistant professor in the International Healthcare Center at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital. He is also a member of the Korean Medical Association and the Korean Academy of Family Medicine. Dr. Kim’s clinical practice and research focuses mainly on health promotion, international healthcare, non-communicable diseases, and medication adherence.


Dr. Jeeyong Lim is a board certified Emergency Medicine doctor who is specialized in taking care of international patients. He finished residency and fellowship in the department of Emergency Medicine at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital and is currently a clinical assistant professor of Emergency Medicine at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital. He serves as a member of Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, The Korean Society of Emergency Medicine, International Society of Travel Medicine and Society of Korean Emergency Geriatrics.


Dr. Jae-Sung Park is a board-certified Neurosurgeon, and also a well-trained skull base surgeon. He joined Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital in 2015 and is currently a Clinical Associate Professor performing more than 100 brain tumor surgeries annually. He is interested in treating international patients with brain tumors and is also performing clinical trials for high grade glioma patients. Currently, he is enrolling patients for clinical trials including the ACTION study which uses ONC201 for the treatment of newly diagnosed H3 K27M-mutant diffuse glioma following completion of radiotherapy.


Dr. Rapovka, Russian Medical Doctor specialized in cardiovascular surgery, graduated from Vladivostok Medical University in Russia and finished fellowship at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. He is coordinating the care of Russian patients in the International Healthcare Center.


When patients need further consultations in specialty departments or specialized centers, they will be transferred to the relevant clinics with appropriate interpreting services and continuous support from the staffs of the International Healthcare Center.

One-stop medical service

Patients are provided with efficient one-stop medical services, including medical consultations and filling prescriptions using the hospital’s inpatient pharmacy.
Documentations including medical reports and insurance forms will be provided upon request in English, Russian, Japanese, and French.

Emergency Care

Seoul St. Mary`s Hospital provides efficient 24 hours emergency medical services to foreign patients who need an immediate medical care. The Emergency Center is located at the first floor of the main building and a fluent English speaking physician is ready for providing emergency care 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

If you need an urgent care during the business hours, please call us first, so that we can help you much faster and more appropriately for your condition. In case of emergency (other than our business hours), please go to the Emergency Center immediately.

International Insurances

Direct billing service can be offered for certain international insurances. The list of insurances can be found below. The qualification for direct billing depends on official contracts between insurance companies and Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital. (The list is subject to change)
