International Training Program

Thank you for your interest in Seoul St. Mary's Hospital (SSMH).

The International Training Program at SSMH aims to contribute to enhancing the quality of life and health of humankind.

As a hospital equipped with a state-of-the-art 21st-century healthcare system, SSMH has been operating an International Training Program for many years, to spread Korea's advanced medical technology to medical professionals around the world.

Observership Program

  • Eligibility: Applicants must hold a medical license and be foreign physicians affiliated with a local healthcare institution.
  • This program is a course to acquire practical medical skills by observation of surgery, the operating room environment, the patient's surgical indication, and progress.
    • Our institution only provide Observation Training for international trainees.
    • Scrub training, working as an assistant, or performing any medical practice is strictly prohibited.
    • Applicants can apply for training at least 3 months from the time of application.
    • Accommodation, meals, insurance and transportation are the responsibility of the observer.
    • Financial support from Seoul St. Mary's Hospital has none.

Fellowship Program

  • Eligibility: Physicians from Saudi, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait who have been approved for limited medical practice by the Ministry of Health and Welfare after completing a 3-month in-country pre-training program.
    • Certificate of specialty holders with at least 3 years of clinical experience since obtaining Medical Board License
    • Check the KMTP website if you meet all the required conditions and qualification for this program.
    • KMTP program only starts 3 times a year: March, September, and December
    • You should apply at least 6 months before it starts.
